Going Beyond Medicare

Going Beyond Medicare
While choosing the right type of Medicare Insurance plan is an important decision, there are many other things for seniors to consider. The policy you’ve chosen may cover almost all of your medical expenses leaving you with very little out-of-pocket cost. But Medicare doesn’t pay for Long-Term Skilled Nursing Care nor does it cover things like dental, vision, and hearing. Medicare doesn’t provide a death benefit to help cover funeral expenses and Social Security only provides a one-time payment of $255. That doesn’t go very far when the funeral home bills arrive.
As a licensed agent in Illinois for both Life and Health products, I can offer many other types of products to help “fill the gaps” in coverage you may have. This includes:
- Final Expense Life Insurance (burial insurance)
- Term and Whole Life insurance
- Single Premium Whole Life insurance (pay once for a paid-up life insurance policy)
- Long-Term and Short-Term Skilled Nursing Care coverage
- Dental, Vision, and Hearing coverage
- Critical Illness / Hospital Indemnity insurance (to cover out-of-pocket expenses for hospital bills)
- Prescription Drug Coverage
- Protecting retirement savings with market-based growth and no risk to principal
When we review your insurance needs, be sure to ask me about any of these products if you have questions about how they work or how they may benefit you. It’s important to make insurance decisions based on what you understand and not to buy policies you have no need for.
